Relegated to Carhartt Streetwear (Europe) only, since 2001ish?? [like this photo -ed.] Remember Car-Lux? Only made into zip tops that I ever saw but the never seen in nature spongy material was Muji-tastic, loved it. Came in brown, grey, desert, red, black, (almost)navy and blaze. 50%-cotton/50%-polyester knit with Car-Lux™ lining (flocked nylon on polyurethane foam backing).Miss these, though you had to size well down or sort of got swamped but a unique piece that held up so well travelling; never looked rumpled or faded. The camo came much later via the streetwear line I believe; below camo actually from the women's line.

Bright orange sweatshirt? Well seen it's in Embra, ye couldny get away wi that in Glesgy... stay away frae orange and/or green to avoid confrontation, ken?
@allan wow, good spot. well impressed.
I MISS CARLUX... it was awesome... A place by me (NJ) had it in stock until around 2004... now it's gone forever.
If you are ever in London, there's a Carhartt Europe factory outlet store in Hackney that's absolutely amazing. At least it was open the last time I was there, circa 06. Past seasons stuff for dirt cheap, and tons of samples for sale too.
ahh yes, still have and wear mine in that green color.
That stuff just makes my skin crawl!
Had the green one in highschool, my friends called it "the cactus sweater". Eventually the fuzzy inside came off. Not too sure about the aesthetic (looks like you're wearing armour), but it was incredibly warm and so soft on the inside.
Yes! I had the dark brown one. Loved it. You're right about sizing, though, they were huge. Ended up giving mine away to someone a little larger than myself. They were incredible though.
Reminds me of a conference I attended back in maybe 2002, Matali Crasset was there rockin a blaze orange foam hoodie, sans elastic at the sleeves. I thought she maybe took a Carlux and worked it over. Always wanted to try that with mine but I'm scared it will just end up in the pile of self-tailoring gone south.
I had two, They WERE well roomy, I loved that they blocked the wind, you could get away with less layers in the cold. I miss these HUGE!
