If Gourmet magazine was food porn, then Gastronomica is food erotica...Gastronomica uses food as an important source of knowledge about different cultures and societies, provoking discussion and encouraging thoughtful reflection on the history, literature, representation, and cultural impact of food.Got a subscription as a bday present from family, still digging through it. Don't know anything more about this meatpaper mag than the website but might be one to look for too. More visual, less Utne Reader; meat as art might be part of it too...

I just discovered Sweet Paul Magazine, an online mag about food and decor (from a guy who writes a hugely popular blog by the same name). Incredible shots and lots of really interesting stuff. Check it out.
