Great video presented by Rohan Anderson, the writer behind the Grow|Gather|Hunt|Cook blog Whole Larder Love. "Meal is.....wild stinging nettle pasta" - an example of simple foraging that Rohan talks about in his new book. Not only is the video slick as a greased pig, but hopefully it gets readers fired up to meet the guy when he comes to the States next year - details to follow but any friends of the Somerville public library should watch this space...  Sidenote if you think your town/bookstore/library could sustain an author reading  give him a call; hell he might swing by. Lee have a new small collection out called Alaska Workers - in reference to the blanket lining that is sometimes called Alaskan Blanket - not sure why specifically beyond warmth [need to look that up -ed]. Even the pants are lined. Out of sight...

10E2072: SPL | Design Talk #2 | Christine Mitchell

A few weeks ago local illustrator and 10engines friend Christine Mitchell (N'East Style) gave a talk at the Somerville (MA) Public Library about her work, career path and the usefulness [necessity? -ed.] of social media. This is the second design talk organized by the Friends of the Somerville Public Library (for whom I volunteer), the first talk featured Aaron Draplin a few months ago. Sidenote, The Friends have a big book sale fundraiser happening this weekend - further reading.

The gents from Rough Water Films put together a glimpse at the short lecture and ensuing afternoon tea-social; featuring Kick*ss Cupcakes, deer-sausage rolls [yes! -ed] and pumpkin pie ice cream. Not messing around... Must add huge thanks to my sis for being KP.

10E2071: That Switchback Look

Really just an excuse to alert you that after 10 years in the business, Burlington (VT) brewer Switchback will finally bottle their beer (rather than only sell on draught locally or kegs).  Bottles will be available at "gas stations, grocery stores and beverage stores". Lot of happy people. Looking forward to winter and beergloves on the deck I guess...

Gloves: Kinco, still unbeatable for the price, would love to see your alternative? From the hardware store.
The zipline thing is a Riglet Reel, from Burton. It adheres (with NASA grade adhesive...) to the front of your child's board so you can pull them around the base area, or across a flat, then retracts back to the base. Great way to mess around with your young'uns.

10E2070: Lambchop - Mr. N (Mr. M remix)

Being released via record label City Slang, Lambchop asked their producer Mark Nevers to re-envision their 2012 album Mr. M. The resulting EP titled Mr. N is 22 minutes. Will be download only I believe, further reading. You can preview it on Amazon.
