Not an expert on this lady; only first heard her on KCRW a few years ago in the Fox Confessor era (was late to the party on The New Pornographers). Anyway, take 1 part Americana styling, 1 part banjo, 1 part recent move to Vermont and I am pretty much sold. At the least, Middle Cyclone must be in the running for album cover of the year (a Mercury Cougar apparently...). A few recent, intense interviews out there (NYT, New Yorker). Check the album via her label ANTI.
