Had not heard of this distillery Bruichladdich, from the isle if Islay (eye-la) off Scotland's west coast. Apparently one of the few indies left/going now. Enthusiastic little doc' below about the current owner Mark Reynier (formerly of bottlers Murray McDavid) who revitalized the place.
I understand they do a large number of releases, some w/ cheeky backstories. Prices are not all stratospheric; their peat loaded PEAT can be found for around $50.
