carrie wicks -there is always tomorrow

Carrie Wicks (disclaimer alert: my sister-in-law) is poised to release her vocal jazz album on Origin Records, in the shops April 2010. The above is a tempter; a super smoky take on the Rankin/Bass standard. If you are having a cocktail party for Christmas, play this song and watch the martinis sink.

Some live recordings of Carrie from Egan's in Seattle and more info via her meinespace page. Your coffee mug will shake when she hits the lower registers... love it.

Holy ... that is INCREDIBLE. Logged on, loaded a few pages and walked away (slow connection). Came back to hear this great tune wafting across the room: checked my itunes - nothing playing; checked through some browser tabs ... 10e wins again.

Met Carrie *way* back in 2001 (a certain wedding in E'burgh), knew she sang but don't recall hearing anything before now. Seriously, I'm mightily impressed. What a great voice!

Carrie, you have a new fan in London (Andrew). Looking forward to the album release.
