Produced by Cape Classics in South Africa this Jam Jar Sweet Shiraz delivers on its sweet promise, and labeling. No joke, it is like drinking raspberry jam. Not my bag atall, unless perhaps w/ a salad that included goat cheese and almonds or maybe some spicy fish, or make it dessert. It is verging on cassis territory (though much thinner as you might expect). Something for the fridge perhaps but not for cocktail hour... would not reach for this after slamming down the work phone at 6pm. The wine does have a balanced feel and actually has a dryer nose than taste; did I mention it is very very sweet? You cannot beat the packaging, can't believe no one thought if it before. So pair it with some old Bonne Mamam glasses and give it as a gift, to someone that likes sweet wine.
