Grindrite (company HQ was out of Waitsfield, VT but now subsumed by Wintersteiger) sold machines specifically for the snowboard industury to smooth the base of boards (belts impregnated with ground unicorn hoof-powder or something), then sharpen edges, then wax the bases. The boxy, belt-loaded machines were [are -ed.] a fixture in any self-respecting snowboard shop.
They also branded their great work clothes (hats, poplin shirts and Ike jackets all from Dickies -loved that... another lost&found for someone...) and produced solid marketing materials. "Buzz", the mascot turned up on gas stations and snowboards all over the n'east...
