This concept canoe, the Malecite Eco was produced by Mad River Canoe last year to see how 'green' they could be... it is based on their original Malecite shape, a shallow-vee bottom -the design that launched the Mad River brand in 1971. Made using corn gel resin, hemp burlap and linen laminates, American beech and reed seats, hand painted logos... etc full geek out stats. There is only one though. Anyway, a hemp boat sounds too crunchy for you; try their kevlar/carbon Expedition 186. There are 50 of those out there... only $4,000.
